01 Guest cabin

A small guest cabin for visiting family and friends on their summer property in the Finnish archipelago. The 28 sqm cabin is located on a hill above their existing summer cottage, offering fantastic views while also providing some privacy.

The cabin comfortably accommodates four people, featuring a double bunk bed, a composting toilet, a small wood-burning stove, and a kitchenette. Along the interior wall to the west, there are five wardrobes and an integrated window bench, providing guests with sufficient storage and a perfect place to relax while enjoying nature.

02 Teetalo

Embedded in the pristine Finnish nature, where the forest and landscape themselves form a tranquil Zen garden, lies the teahouse next to a nature trail. Inspired by trees that have burned from within, the ceremony hall is dark with a round light source in the ceiling, featuring a built-in prism that captures and directs natural light.

The idea behind the prism was that during the tea ceremony, the light would be directed toward the tea master and the act of making tea, with the natural spotlight guiding the participants' focus. When the tea is served, the prism can then be adjusted to spread the light across the entire hall. The ceiling also features traditional paper surfaces (shoji) that soften the sharp light, creating a harmonious and meditative atmosphere.

03 Siiven Alla - Aistipaviljonki

AINE 1 involved a group project where my idea served as our central concept. The pavilion drew inspiration from its surroundings, specifically the elegant swans that inhabit the area. We conceptualized a pavilion where one could experience a sense of security, akin to the saying 'under someone's wing.' Collaboratively, we developed this idea further, resulting in a wing-shaped structure made of white pigmented concrete. The final model, submitted for the course, is crafted at a 1:10 scale, capturing the essence of our collective vision.

04 Läsande ugglan - Tajteilijatalo

This concept is part of the extensive and ongoing Tajteilijatalo course at Aalto University. I collaborated with Matti Pikkujämsä, a Finnish illustrator assigned as my artist. Drawing inspiration from his favorite leisure activities and professional work, my concept features his illustrated owls showcased in randomly scattered windows, complemented by integrated benches for the ideal reading spot bathed in natural light. Adhering to Pikkujämsä's specified workflow, I tailored the floorplan to accommodate all his needs. The first floor consists of three levels, each with a progressively taller ceiling height, creating captivating and dynamic spaces throughout the entire house
